McAlester, the seat of Pittsburg County, is a regional center of commerce with a diversified economy. It is nestled amid rolling hills at the crossroads of US Highways 69 and 270, about 90 miles south of Tulsa and 120 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.

acres of public hunting, hiking, fishing, canoeing, water sports, horseback riding and more.
